In the college? Come over...

Okay before we begin with this blog, two stories to set the background,
Shorter Story I have been trying to write this blog for more than a month now but couldn't manage my time. Finally, here it is!
Short Story I am a member of IndiBlogger which is basically a forum for Indian bloggers and this was one of the featured topics that I wanted to take up. I did not go through any of the blogs written by other members on this topic to make sure that my thoughts are not manipulated. So these are my unadulterated, 100% pure and virgin thoughts on what you need to be doing while you are in college.
I must admit, initially, I believed I am not even old enough to blog on this and *boom* the reality hit me... it's been 4 years since I have been out of the campus! That is worth an entire Engineering degree! Today, the undergrad college students that I know of are just way too young to be my friends. Rather, I am too old to be hanging out with them! Man, do I feel old right now! :-)
Anyways, eno…

Top 5 Problems of the Sharp Dressed Man

Check out the website for more - Urban Purush

Movember (not to be confused with an incorrect spelling for November) is a month for men to support and raise awareness about men's health issues around the World. There are two ways to do it,

#1 - grow a moustache this month and tell people about Movember when they ask about your ever-so-stylish, dashing and rock-solid Mo

#2 - donate for charities that support Men's health (more info at

That is all that this blog will talk about Movember because this isn't about Movember, this is about the art and science which you develop the understanding of when you grow your Mo! Growing a Mo isn't easy, it takes a lot of efforts, time, care and patience. So when you grow a Mo you inherently grow an interest in taking care of yourselves. You start to ensure you are at your stylish best, you start dressing yourself up and you don't leave the mirror until the guy in it looks ready to rock 'n roll! However, there is a dow…

3 compliments that apply to every girl out there!

Gentlemen, when was the last time someone appreciated you for your new shirt or shoes or anything else for that matter? Long time? Yesterday? Doesn't matter, what matters is the fact that a single compliment can make your day and more so if it comes from someone of the opposite sex. It’s just natural.
The good news is that the same applies to women! So what are you waiting for? Go out, compliment women, make their day and be called charming! But it’s much easier said than done. Here is the biggest problem, we men don't pay as much attention as we should and thus end up not complimenting enough.

Remember when you totally didn't notice her new ear rings? That is still level 3, level 1 is not noticing her new haircut! (If you are curious, level 2 is not noticing her new handbag or sandals ;-) ... you get the idea). However, we cannot be blamed for this, neither do we really care about ear rings nor a haircut is big of a deal. I mean we get a haircut every month!

So how do we go …

What The Fone!

Rant Alert - Some readers may find this blog a piece of rant, readers' discretion advised!

Just like most of you out there (especially people of my age group and above), my first phone was a Nokia. And unlike most of you, every new phone that I bought after that has been a Nokia. It was only last year that I got into the World of smartphones where you are likely to be LOOKING at the device much longer than SPEAKING or HEARING from it. My Windows Phone 8.1 OS powered Nokia Lumia 925 is a fun device and it becomes much more fun when non-Windows users check it for the first time :-D

What's the difference between Facebook and Twitter? They are two enormously different social networking platforms. While facebook is this bulky giant that has opened the floodgates to all sorts of content, twitter chooses to be calm with the trademark 140 characters limit and doesn't compromise on it. In summary, that's an analogy for Windows Phone OS and the others out there especially Android.…

Get rid of annoying facebook posts (in 5 seconds or less!)

So when you initially joined facebook, how was it like? What made you join in the first place? Wasn't it fun? Wasn't it the urge to share and keep in touch with friends? Yes, that's what it was about - staying in touch, getting the latest from friends and sharing what's up in general. In some cases, keeping in touch with our ex(es) or looking at the pics of our crush ;-)

But somewhere down the line things went a bit sour. We still login to facebook daily, many times a day actually, but there are certain posts in bad taste that spoil the entire experience. Posts that try to spread hatred, posts that are against one's views of religion or politics, graphic injuries, animal abuse and the list goes on.

Now one way to deal with this is simply unfriend the people sharing such stuff. However, that may not always be possible because they could be anyone, a good friend, a colleague, a senior or anyone you don't really want to disrespect by unfriending. But worry not becau…

The actor in you...

Being born in a family (and growing up with people) that don't shy away from stage, it wasn't an earth shattering achievement to win a city level mono-acting competition at the age of 7, in fact it was only the beginning of what could have been a very different journey than my present one.

I love being on stage, performing something... anything that's well rehearsed and worth the time of the audience. Best part of being on stage is, without a doubt, the attention. When every single person in the audience is glued to you and interested in everything right from your appearance and costumes to the way you are walking, from your expressions and gestures to your voice modulation. And this attention can exude so much energy that you may either outperform or sweat out of nervousness. However, professional theater artists are seldom distracted by this energy and are capable of their natural performance no matter what. Think of it like Virat Kohli playing defensive on a wicket takin…

My 10 Social Years

It all started with an invite to connect on MySpace sometime in the latter half of 2004. I was a class 12 student and fairly aware of the internet. I distinctly remember my first hotmail account, Yahoo! messenger, chatrooms, "asl?" and ofcourse those 'Cyber Cafes' much before MySpace came around :)

But MySpace was different, it was Online Social Networking... something I didn't really understand in the beginning (frankly speaking, I think MySpace is still not as user friendly as it should be). So without much activity on MySpace and a belief that Yahoo! messenger is the best thing on the internet (as far as connecting with people goes), I came across something which was a revolution of sorts... it was called... *drums roll* ORKUT! :D

I don't have much to say about Orkut but thank God a couple of years later I joined the lifesaver - Facebook. Facebook was much, much cooler, easier and urbane. It brought a plethora of social networking websites with it. Facebook…
